Biography

John R. Buonomo

   John Buonomo is the Middlesex County Register of the Probate and Family Court.  He was first elected in 2000 to finish an unexpired term then reelected in 2002 to a full 6 year term.   Mr. Buonomo holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Northeastern University and a B.A. in Psychology and Education from the University of Massachusetts.  Mr. Buonomo has been an innovative public manager for twenty two years.  He was the first Executive Director of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts One-Stop Career Center from 1995 to 2000.  He held the post of Director of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Employment Service Program for the Department of Transitional Assistance from 1991 to 1995.  He served eight years in County Government including County Administrator from 1986 to 1991.  He was first elected to public office in 1979 to the Somerville School Committee.  He served twelve years on that City's Board of Alderman before being elected Register.  He currently resides in Newton, Massachusetts.
